Hypatia first is a stage name. Who was Hypatia ? It was so fascinating a character as to seem legendary ... At the end of the fourth century was born in Alexandria, Egypt, and was a scientist, una filosofa ma pare che fu vicina anche alle arti, la musica e la pittura. E' una storia incredibile: una donna così colta da fare invidia e suscitare scalpore nel suo tempo. La sua fine purtroppo era segnata e così avvenne: fu tolta dalla circolazione, dopo essere stata vittima di invidie e calunnie.
Ma è così romantico immaginare una tale figura femminile in quell'epoca così lontana, una donna matematica e filosofa, di cui sa così poco da rendere il suo profilo tanto evanescente quanto magico.

La "nostra" Ipazia, creatrice di opere d'arte e d'artigianato artistico, ha scelto questo nome non a caso. Il suo vuole essere un vero e proprio "tributo" alla preziosità del lavoro femminile.
